Early this summer Oregon passed the Equal Pay Act, which prohibits pay discrimination on the basis of specific protected classes against employees for performing work that requires substantially similar knowledge, skill, effort, responsibility and working conditions. The Act also prohibits employers from asking about an applicant’s current or past salary history prior to an offer of employment.

Parts of this new law take effect early this fall, and we want to make sure you’re prepared.
