This position is ideal for an individual with three to five years of human resource generalist and training experience who is looking to move into an entry level consulting position. Our ideal candidate will be a creative, innovative, team oriented individual with excellent communication skills and who likes to dig in and work hard. Strong knowledge of employment laws such as family leave, ADA, workers’ compensation, wage and hour and other similar laws is required. Candidates with an aptitude in training are also significantly desirable.

Primary Purpose

Responsible for providing professional human resource consulting services to member organizations in accordance with best practices, regulatory requirements, and Company goals and objectives.

Support a business culture that reflects high value placed on high quality service and Association-wise collaboration.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Responds directly to requests for information and guidance in various human resources issues such as family leave, ADA, workers’ compensation, wage and hour, employee relations, harassment and discrimination; review and develop human resources processes and tools, such as employee handbooks, job descriptions, employee opinion surveys, and other employment policies and documents.

Conducts Human Resource Assessments and Employee Opinion Surveys, establishes initial service relationship with new members, links new members to other professional services providers, Cascade products and programs.

Designs and conducts training workshops relative to various areas of human resources, such as harassment awareness training.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

Typically requires a bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years directly related experience. The qualified candidate will also generally have at least 3-5 years exempt level human resource management experience and hands-on or consulting related experience. PHR certifications preferred

Excellent customer service skills required.

Strong communication (both written and verbal) and organization skills needed. Must be able to relate to people at all levels of the organization and in a variety of industries.

Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple on-going projects are required to assure service and product credibility and quality.

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Typically requires current Oregon Driver’s License and reliable transportation

Compensation and Hours

This position is full-time. The hours are typically Monday through Friday with regular travel, including occasional early morning or evening travel.
