Cascade Remains Accessible in Event of Inclement Weather

December, 2008

CEA Sign in Snow

During the recent bout of severe weather, it may not have been apparent from the outside, but to keep our staff safe Cascade closed its physical offices.

"It's a new world for us," says Patrice Altenhofen, Association President. "With technological advances, staff can now serve our membership remotely, including answering phone calls and e-Mail, and accessing electronic documents we may have left behind at the office."

One Member called thinking by chance someone would be at the office to advise him on a wage and hour question. When we answered the phone, he was glad we could help but wondered why we would risk the harsh road conditions. He was amazed to learn that our administrative staff was working remotely (at home) and seamlessly forwarding calls to staff service providers who were also working remotely. "For the safety of training participants, we elected to postpone training, but each participant received either a phone call or an e-Mail message notifying them of the postponement," added Altenhofen.

In the event of weather-related training and event cancellations, please visit the front page of our Web site where we will also post such notifications.
