Working and Managing Remote: The New Normal?
A Best Practices Review

Over the past few years we have had Cascade Employers Association members ask about best practices for the emerging trend of managing remote. Now with the emergence of COVID-19 and social distancing standards, these skills have become critical for us all. There are some practical things supervisors can do to make remote work for the entire team.

Please come join the discussion and review of a few key principles in effectively managing when the face-to-face part of the workplace is replaced by email, texts, ZOOM meetings and (gasp!) phone calls.

We will review:

  • Creating A Communication Strategy
  • Ways to Stay Focused On Goals, Not Activity
  • Intentional Coaching from a Distance
  • Guidelines for the Team to Avoid Multi-Tasking During Communications
  • Establishing Frequency Expectations
  • How to Treat Remote As Local
  • How to Keep The Feel of Workplace Inclusivity
  • Using Technology to Build Community

This is, of course, a ZOOM meeting with discussion, chatting and polling built in so we can practice some of these connecting and team-maintenance skills.
