Human Resources Generalist

As the Human Resources Generalist you will be responsible for delivering a variety of HR services in recruiting, employee relations, performance management, compensation & benefits administration, policy administration, and execution of special programs as assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Serves as a liaison between management and employees by handling questions, interpreting and administering policies and helping resolve work-related challenges.
  2. Assists in development and implementation of employee relations strategies that proactively address company and employee needs.
  3. Utilizes the human resources information systems (HRIS), to design and run queries and prepare various reports as requested by management. Responsible for data entry into the HRIS system and maintaining confidential employee information in employee files.
  4. Coaches, counsels, and provides employee relations advice and direction to managers and employees ensuring compliance with Company policy, and employment laws and regulations.
  5. Maintains the confidentiality and security of employee information.
  6. Actively identifies employment gaps, proposes and implements changes necessary to minimize risks to the organization.
  7. Provides support on the design and development of HR initiatives and strategy.
  8. Maintain awareness of current employment law and recommend policy and/or practice changes to comply with federal and state laws and regulations.
  9. Identifies training needs for business areas, develops training plans and provides regular training to help to develop staff and meet business needs.
  10. Strong ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with employees and managers at all levels, while maintaining extreme confidentiality.
  11. Responsible for administering, tracking and monitoring workers compensation, short term disability, OFLA/FMLA, ADA and other leave law requests and claims.
  12. Participates in the general full life-cycle staffing process for all positions (including sourcing, interviewing, testing, checking references, and selecting qualified candidates).
  13. Updates and revises HR materials, forms and policies including Employee Handbook job descriptions, and all other HR manuals.
  14. Assists Human Resources department on other assignments and/or special projects as requested.
  15. Supports Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) efforts, actively promoting DEI throughout the organization and its partnerships.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Minimum of 3-5 years prior Human Resources Generalist experience in multiple areas of HR
  2. Must have solid knowledge of employee relations and engagement, compensation and benefits, HR systems and payroll knowledge, with proven ability to execute independently
  3. Proficiency in MS Office required; Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  4. PHR/SPHR or CP/SCP certification preferred
  5. Integrity and confidentiality including superior interpersonal communication, presentation and organizational skills
