This week OSHA announced an implementation delay regarding the newly required Exposure Risk Assessment, Infection Control Plan and training requirements for certain employers whose business operations have been most directly affected by the recent “freeze” and by the newly adopted risk levels. It acknowledges a “grace period” for employers who have been working to comply but have not yet completed that work, reflecting Oregon OSHA’s general enforcement approach concerning COVID-19 requirements.
Some industries, such as restaurants, gyms and other businesses significantly impacted by the recent “freeze” will be allowed a 3-week delay until January 11, 2021. Other business that can show efforts towards substantial compliance will be allowed a one–week delay until December 28, 2020.
