Yesterday, the Oregon Health Authority announced that it is recommending everyone, including fully vaccinated individuals, wear masks in public indoor settings throughout the state. This new recommendation is in response to the large increase in COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations, as well as the Center for Disease Control’s (CDC) new national guidance calling for masking measures to prevent the spread of the highly transmissible Delta variant.
The OHA recommendation does not change OSHA’s guidance, which currently leaves social distancing and mask wearing up to each individual employer. If employers do decide to require masks for all employees, Cascade recommends that the employer’s face mask policies be republished as soon as possible so that all employees are aware of the new change.
Cascade will continue to monitor for additional information. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions!
