Masks Required in All Oregon's Indoor Public Places Starting Friday

Today, Governor Brown announced that beginning Friday, August 13th, all individuals in Oregon, regardless of vaccination status, will be required to wear a mask in indoor public spaces. Masks will be required for all individuals five years of age and older. This announcement is in response to a surge of COVID-19 Delta Variant cases throughout the state.

Based on previous Oregon mandates, it is our understanding that “indoor public spaces” includes businesses, grocery stores, indoor entertainment venues, and gyms. Moreover, “businesses” was previously defined as grocery stores, fitness related organizations, public transit agencies and providers, personal services providers, restaurants, bars, breweries, brewpubs, wineries, tasting rooms, and distilleries, retail stores, shopping centers and malls, and ride sharing services. Note: This may be better defined by the state in the days to come.

Even if your business is not listed above, Governor Brown strongly recommends mask mandates for all employers.

Cascade is monitoring this development and will release more information once it is known.
