Spring Cleaning Quick List

Posted by: Jenna Reed, Vice President of HR Services and General Counsel on Monday, March 21, 2011

It’s Spring! That means it’s time for Spring cleaning. Here is a quick checklist of things to get out of the way and get ready for summer.

  • Update your employee handbook (don’t forget a legal review)

  • Update your supervisor manual (get those unwritten practices formalized in writing)

  • Update your job descriptions (remember to review for proper exempt/non-exempt classification)

  • Schedule an employee engagement survey (employee engagement is the number one concern of HR Managers this year)

  • Update your compensation structure to reflect changes in the market and internally at your workplace (read a story here)

  • Participate in the Oregon Regional Survey so you have access to current market pay data (go to www.SalaryTrends.com)

  • Review your family leave (OFLA/FMLA) process and make sure your forms are updated (go to the ToolBox)

Don’t worry, if you don’t have the time or expertise to get this list completed, let us know and we can help.
