This Sunday is Daylight Savings Time. While it might not seem obvious, this change can impact wages for non-exempt employees, particularly those on the graveyard shift.
The FLSA requires that employees be paid for all hours worked. Typically, during the time change in the spring, employees working through the time change will work one less hour than they normally do, and need to be paid accordingly. During the time change in the fall, employees working through the time change will work one additional hour than they normally do.
