It’s Time for Spring Cleaning!

We can’t believe it’s Spring either, but it’s here and so is your Spring Cleaning checklist:

  • Update your employee handbook. If you’ve done regular annual updates, it should only take a couple of hours. Don’t forget a legal review, too.
  • Schedule Reasonable Suspicion Training for supervisors and managers. Marijuana becomes legal on July 1, so don’t delay. Make sure to update all of your drug and alcohol policies and republish and communicate them with employees.
  • Develop or update your employee supervision handbook. Did you know that Cascade has a great template for you to follow?
  • Update your job descriptions. From hiring to pay to performance management, your job descriptions are a key employment tool.
  • Sharpen performance management, engagement, leadership or customer service skills with on-site training and consulting.
  • Schedule compliance training. Some of our most popular: Harassment Awareness (company-wide), Workplace Respect (company-wide), Basics of Employment Law (supervisors and managers), Employment Risk Management (supervisors and managers).
  • The economy is picking up and employee compensation is back in the hot seat. Update your compensation structure to reflect changes in the market and internally at your workplace.
  • Participate in the Oregon Regional Survey so you have access to current market pay data.

Don’t worry, if you don’t have the time or expertise to get this list completed, let us know and we can help. That’s what we are here for … you!
