Since its inception in 1965, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) has worked to ensure that employees are treated fairly in the workplace. The EEOC has recovered billions of dollars for charging parties and other aggrieved individuals through litigation. In 2020 alone, the EEOC secured $439.2 million for victims of discrimination. Their success rate is stellar. The EEOC has achieved a successful outcome in 95.8 percent of all district court resolutions. This isn’t great news for employers.

The EEOC has an impressive story of success for workers, but unless you have been a subscriber to their monthly newsletter you might not be aware of this. This lack of awareness can be detrimental to your organization. As leaders in HR, you have a lot of plates spinning, and taking the time to read the monthly EEOC newsletter might not make it to the top of your priorities list. In an attempt to make their news and information more easily accessible to HR professionals, the EEOC has launched a YouTube channel.

Now you can get this vital information from the convenience of your cellphone or computer anywhere at any time. Their first online recording was made available on February 10, 2022.  In the video James Ryan, Spokesperson for the EEOC, interviews Mary Jo Oneill, EEOC Regional Attorney of the Phoenix Office.
