Not only is it true, but it can also often be a cost-saving benefit option. Through its sponsored Pacific Northwest Employers Life, Health Insurance Trust, Cascade recently partnered with Nonstop Health™, bringing a unique health plan option to Oregon employers and their workforce. The plan pays all employee upfront out-of-pocket healthcare costs including copays, coinsurance and deductibles.
As a membership organization serving Oregon businesses, we’re thrilled to provide our members, especially the small business community, with access to Nonstop Health. Employers who adopt this plan send a clear message to their employees: they value their health and well-being, and they are willing to invest in it.
Nonstop Health was originally designed for employers with more than 50 employees enrolled in health coverage benefits. But through the Association’s sponsored Health Insurance Trust, Cascade member employers with under 50 employees on those benefits can now qualify.
How It Works
The Trust combines Nonstop Health with a high deductible health plan (HDHP) through Health Net of Oregon. Nonstop Health covers employee upfront health costs up to the deductible; the high-deductible health plan then pays the costs above that. By combining these two plans, a small employer’s annual healthcare costs are often less than those from a traditional low-deductible plan.
And it’s simple for employees—they pay for all copays, coinsurance, and deductibles with a medically-coded Nonstop Visa card creating an easier, more equitable healthcare experience. That’s powerful and unique, and small employers can only get it in Oregon through Cascade Employers Association. Recruiting and retaining employees is an ongoing battle for all employers, especially smaller businesses. Needless to say, this is a huge opportunity for those businesses competing with the corporate world for top talent.
