You did it again! Thank you to everyone for continuing to participate in Cascade’s quarterly HR Trends survey. This survey was the second in our now quarterly series, collecting data on key workplace issues related to compliance, recruitment and retention, compensation, DEI and leadership. Cascade uses this data to make sure our members have the resources they need to address how these trends may impact the workplace.
Here are some highlights from our Q4 edition:
- 75% of respondents identified “Recruiting and retaining talent” as their top workplace challenge, an increase of 4% from August’s survey. Check out Cascade’s recruiting services and see how we can help you.
- The second top challenge was “Compensation program/structure,” which rose to 62% from 42% in August. Good news! We have an amazing compensation team that is here to help make this less of a challenge for you.
- Another 50% of respondents chose, “Keeping up with the changes in laws, rules or regulations” as a significant challenge. Now might be a good time to check out our blog on how to keep up!
- In terms of how organizations approach compensating remote workers, although close to 40% of participants reported they do not have any remote workers, of those that did have them compensation was most often determined based on the location of the company’s headquarters and not the location where the employee is working.
- Lack of knowledge on how to implement DEI initiatives was the most common challenge employers reported. We agree! Knowing where to start is tough and we can help make it easier. Let’s connect!
- When ranking the importance of the leadership skill “developing team and individual accountability” the percentage of responses ranking this as “very important” rose from 33% to 54%. Our Basics of Supervision course might be a great series to help with this problem.
- More than 90% of organizations are anticipating their employee headcount to increase or stay the same, but the number of organizations expecting a decrease rose from 4% to 7% this quarter.
In case you missed it, The November 2022 edition is now available. Members can access the reports in Cascade's HR Library, in the Members Only Area. AND our 2023 Q1 HR Trends Survey will be open for participation in early January. We hope you keep participating and make this a continued success.
