| Documenting Performance Documenting your employees’ performance is important. It creates a history of critical events and decisions that happen during the lifecycle of the employee. Proper employee documentation is also necessary and critical in litigation and other proceedings such as unemployment hearings, grievances, arbitrations, EEO complaints, or information requests. These documents are often seen as credible by a judge or arbitrator. Good documentation may deter costly and risky legal action and reduce your exposure as a leader.
