McKenna Arnold

Survey and Research Manager

Our survey and research guru, McKenna is a data science specialist who plans, implements and publishes Cascade’s annual pay and benefit surveys. She also creates custom surveys for employers of diverse sectors. McKenna loves digging into the details to deliver high quality, highly-valid survey results. She also provides Affirmative Action plan and program support to Cascade members.

McKenna earned her Bachelor of Arts and Master’s degree in Business Administration with a focus on Data Science from Willamette University. In her free time, McKenna can be found with a book or knitting needles in her hands.


Angela Bergerson

Technology and Media Manager

With a zeal for technology, Angela ensures positive on-line experiences for our web site users and social media followers. She designs, integrates and manages all of our internal systems and offers “on the fly support” for both our members and our staff.

Angela has a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and a Bachelor of Arts in Writing and Literature from George Fox University. When not working, she enjoys reading, planning for her next road trip, amateur photography, and spending time with family and friends.


Jocelyn Billings

Training Coordinator

Probably one of the most helpful people you’ll ever meet, Jocelyn will not rest until employers are linked to the right learning programs, including leadership, HR management, employment law compliance, and diversity, equity and inclusion. She skillfully coordinates our online, public and on-site training programs.

Jocelyn graduated from Chemeketa Community College’s Business Technology Program and earned an HR Leadership certificate from our HR Academy Certificate Program. In her free time, Jocelyn enjoys volunteering at the Willamette Humane Society, camping, and spending time with her family.


Ann Blancher

Member Service Specialist

Ann boasts an extensive, and enviable, customer service and administrative support background. Usually the first voice you’ll hear when calling Cascade, she’s been directing our members to the right help at the right time since joining Cascade in 2015.

Ann enjoys reading, crafting, gardening, building Minecraft worlds, collecting Legos, and is passionate about animals of all kinds.


Caitlin Egeck, JD

HR and Compliance Consultant

Confident, knowledgeable and approachable, Caitlin knows how to put clients at ease, even in the most difficult situations. She focuses on the foundations of HR management along with some of the most common compliance issues. Caitlin is an expert on employee handbooks, job descriptions, discipline, documentation, investigations, training and much more.

With a BA in Political Science from the University of Washington, Caitlin earned her J.D. from Lewis & Clark Law School and is a member of the Oregon State Bar. When in college, she spent hundreds of hours interning for a variety of nonprofits. When not at work you can find Caitlin hiking, enjoying the coast or exploring Portland.


Mark Fineran

HR Flex Staff Consultant

With over 36 years in HR Management in diverse industries, Mark has seen, and handled, it all. He’s provided guidance and support with issues like overall leadership and management, coaching, employee relations, benefits design and implementation, 401(k) administration, workers' comp, safety programs and much, much more. As an HR Flex-Staff Consultant, Mark finds creative, practical solutions for today’s business climate while supporting members on site.

Mark earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Oregon State University. He enjoys salmon fishing, golfing, cycling and hanging out with the grandkids.


Gayle Gilham


With Cascade since 1976, Gayle lives and breathes our mission and deeply understands our unsurpassed value to member employers. Her history and diverse industry perspective mean Gayle instinctively assesses workplace landscapes and makes sure Cascade attracts and retains its own team of collaborative, responsive and solution-oriented professionals. Gayle currently serves on the Boards of Willamette Workforce Partnership and Employer Associations of America. She also reports to our own Board of executives from Cascade member organizations.

Gayle relishes her time away by working in her half-acre garden and fishing for salmon in Oregon’s coastal rivers.


Lindsay Hill, CCP, GRP

Director, Compensation Services

Lindsay knows businesses must develop and implement comprehensive compensation solutions to stay competitive. As our Director of Compensation Services, she draws on her vast experience from a variety of industries to tailor the right compensation strategy for your specific needs.

With a Bachelor’s degree in Business – Human Resources Management – from Portland State University, Lindsay also holds certificates as a Certified Compensation Professional and a Global Remuneration Professional from WorldatWork. On the weekends she enjoys camping, traveling and spending time with her family.


Trudy Hylemon, ODCP, PHR

Senior HR Consultant

Trudy’s 25-plus years of HR and leadership experience empowers her to bring a strategic, forward-thinking approach to Cascade members. She is passionate about recruitment and selection and excels in matching the best candidates with the right job opportunities. Trudy has filled a wide range of roles, from specialized to executive-level positions. She is friendly, collaborative and committed to helping members navigate their employee challenges.

Trudy earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Oregon State University and is an Organizational Development Certified Professional. She also holds a Professional in Human Resource Management certification and is a member of the Society for Human Resources Management. After work, Trudy enjoys hiking, camping and supporting local high school sporting events in the small community where she and her family live.

Alexis James

Director, Training and Organization Development

As a former public educator and administrator, Alexis is a longtime instructor and innovator. She supports our members in activating contemporary responses to leadership development and employee needs through training, coaching, and team building. She brings empathy and engagement to meetings, board trainings, and mediations. Before joining Cascade, Alexis owned her own business as diversity, equity, and inclusion consultant where she specialized in creating inclusive workplace cultures through supervisor training, data analysis and diversity, equity and inclusion change management.

Alexis earned her Master’s degree in Secondary Education from Lewis & Clark College. Born and raised in Oregon, her other passions include: listening to Beyoncé, riding her bicycle down the Springwater corridor, and reading crime fiction.


Sheryl Kelsh

Membership Development Manager

Sheryl is our membership ninja, identifying the greatest needs facing prospective members while helping current members stay fully engaged in valuable programs and services. She possesses nearly two decades of experience working with organizations of all sizes and industries and knows how to link employers to resources that advance success.

Sheryl earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management from Linfield College and holds a certificate in Nonprofit Organizational Management. In her spare time, Sheryl enjoys fishing with her husband on the high lakes of Central Oregon, playing with her two black labs, kayaking on the Willamette River and planting a ridiculous number of flowers in her backyard.


Diane McBride

Director, Finance and Accounting

Diane, our finance and accounting expert, does it all, from payroll to accounts payable to Insurance Trust accounting. She collaborates with our President on the strategic management of our financial resources and shares her extensive knowledge with members who have payroll-related questions. Diane has over 30 years of accounting and payroll experience.

When not at work, Diane enjoys spending time with family, camping, fly fishing, knitting, and crocheting.


Gustavo Paredes, SPHR


Gustavo lives for the challenge of finding creative solutions to workplace problems. Formally a Human Resources Director, he is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources and brings a real-life perspective to everyday employer issues. Bilingual, Gustavo delivers engaging, personable training sessions in both English and Spanish.

Gustavo knows his way around a barbeque and enjoys showing off his cooking skills to his family.


Jenna Reed, JD

Vice President, HR Services and General Counsel

An employment law attorney and HR professional, Jenna helps members understand and navigate complex regulatory environments, advises on current and practical HR solutions and lends her expert support so employers can confidently take on their biggest HR challenges and opportunities. She inherently seeks to understand your specific circumstances, obstacles, and goals, helping you sort through the clutter and determine your best path. Her collaborative, responsive and solution-oriented approach creates workplaces where employees and organizations thrive, not just survive. A nationally recognized speaker on employment topics, Jenna is also a member of the Oregon State Bar.

Jenna earned her BA in Political Science and Communication degrees from Linfield College and her J.D. and MBA from Willamette University. When not helping employers, Jenna likes running, spending time with her family, exploring wine country and cheering on the Washington Huskies (Go UDub!).


Juan Rodriguez

Spanish Translation Specialist

With over 13 years of Spanish interpretation and translation experience, Juan is a talented professional who understands a variety of regional accents, linguistic styles, indigenous accents and slang. His gift for simultaneous interpretation makes him invaluable for high-priority, sensitive assignments. Juan brings a wide understanding of the human resources management field and regularly works with people from various backgrounds and age groups.

Born in Mexico City, Juan is an avid rock climber and travels the world looking for the next challenge to summit.


Kelli Slinger

Accounts Receivable/Payroll Clerk

Kelli’s 10-plus years of bookkeeping and accounting experience make her a valued member of our Finance and Accounting team. She supports the billing process, assists members with their billing-related questions and offers expert guidance on payroll compliance issues.

Kelli earned her Associate’s degree in Accounting Technology from Linn-Benton Community College. When not at work, Kelli loves the outdoors and camping with her family.


Bill Swift, M. Ed.

Leadership Facilitator

A trainer, counselor and executive coach, Bill has enhanced workplace learning and productivity since 1981. A Certified Achieve Global Trainer in both Genuine Leadership and Stellar Customer Service, Bill facilitates organizational development that embraces forward-looking leadership and direct communication. He teaches practical management techniques with real-world applicability and has worked with everyone from landscapers and CEOs to college professors and welders.

Bill holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology/Sociology from Duke University and a Master’s degree in Education from Florida Atlantic University. He’s often accompanied to the office by his dog Flynn (think blonde Toto) and enjoys running, hiking and Timbers games (RCTID!).


Nancy Van Dyke

Director, Administrative Services

The leader of our administrative support staff, Nancy gets the job done right. She provides exceptional support to our members, Board of Directors, President and staff. Nancy keeps our facilities looking great and ensures we maintain our designation as “Earthwise” Certified through Marion County. A stickler for detail, she’s delivered outstanding member and staff support since joining Cascade in 1991.

Nancy holds a certificate in HR Leadership through our HR Academy Certificate Program and spends her weekends gardening, maintaining her 1919 farmhouse and antiquing.


Bethany Wright, SHRM-CP, PHR

HR Consultant

As a consultant, Bethany brings nearly 15 years of HR experience and a ton of practical, hands-on knowledge to both our team and our members. She’s got on-the-ground solutions for a variety of HR issues from handbook development, HR compliance and best practices, job description development and much more. She often provides on-site HR support to members when they need it.

Bethany’s a University of Portland graduate with a degree in biology and a member of the Society for Human Resource Management. She holds both a SHRM-CP certification and a PHR certification from the Human Resource Certification Institute. Bethany is a native Oregonian who dreams of living in a world filled with innovative businesses, constant sunshine and people who can have entire conversations using only quotes from her favorite TV show, “Friends.” When not working, she can be found catching a plane to some random destination with her best friend, building a Millennium Falcon out of Legos, or watching the Avengers save the world from Total Annihilation.
